A rare and hard-to-find compressor that gives Distressors a run-for-their-money in terms of lightning-fast attack time and intuitive ratio and release settings that are very musical and instrument-friendly. Dual-slope topology not only limits loud material but "turns up" quiet material simultaneously for an open, breath-ey sound that is not as reliant on makeup gain. I own one of the "silverface" version that has a warmer-sounding VCA (voltage-controlled-amplifier) for the output, as well as a "blackface" version which is also cool but maybe just slightly more generic-sounding side-by-side with the silverface? Subtle. It can be run as two mono units or linked stereo.
